Audubon Nature Institute is the operational scheme owner and approving entity for all aspects of the G.U.L.F. RFM Program. Advisory Committees are established and work with G.U.L.F. staff to provide input and guidance for the program. The G.U.L.F. team manages day-to-day operations and acts as liaison between committees and Audubon Nature Institute.
Committees
Oversight Committee
Members of the Oversight Committee (OC) are appointed by Audubon Nature Institute and make strategy and policy recommendations for the program. OC members also review and advise on work products from the technical committees.
Fisheries Technical Advisory Committee
Members of the Fisheries Technical Advisory Committee (F-TAC) are appointed by Audubon Nature Institute and represent fisheries science, management, industry, academic and non-profit stakeholders in the Gulf of Mexico. The function of the committee is to provide technical input into the Standards and Guidance Documents for the G.U.L.F. RFM Certification.
Chain of Custody Technical Advisory Committee
Members of the Chain of Custody Technical Advisory Committee (CoC TAC) are appointed by Audubon Nature Institute and represent industry, non-profit, and management stakeholders in the Gulf of Mexico. The CoC TAC is an objective-based group, broadly representing the U.S. Gulf of Mexico seafood industry, including seafood processors, dealers, fishermen, regulators, researchers and other interested stakeholders. The function of the committee is to provide technical input into development and review of a Chain of Custody Standard for the G.U.L.F. RFM Certification.
Public Input
Part of a transparent, credible program is input from the public. The G.U.L.F. Program provides opportunities for public comment at various stages of program development and review.
